Sparkey was nominated for the 7th annual Underground Music Awards to be held in NYC at BB Kings Theatre on August 23, 2009.  To win depends on voting, which begins on July 6, 2009 and ends August 6, 2009.

Bio: Sparkey is a Guyanese artist based in Antigua for the past 12 years, a former member of the bands Tonik and Da Bhann, he sings both reggae and soca. This is his 5th award nomination since the release of his album in 2007.  He won Best International World Male Artist and Best International World Album in 2007.  In June 2009 he was nominated by Urban Buzz Factor for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist(voting begins for this July 6, 2009) and by the Internet Radio Magazine for the Best Independent Artist of 2009, voting for this category begins July 15, 2009.
